Meet Mrs. Barragan

Hi M.E. Norman families!

My name is Monserrat Barragan-Mata and I am from Morgan City, Louisiana. I graduated from Nicholls State University in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Educational Technology Leadership I am teaching 5th grade ELA, a subject I have taught since student teaching.

I learned to speak English from a young age and very quickly and I want to be able to encourage student growth! Growing up ELA was not my best subject. So when I plan lessons I keep in mind that there are students with the same struggles that I once had. I hope to encourage students to grow every day!

I came to Norman when I was little, I am very excited to teach in the same classroom I was taught!
