FIELD TRIPS (NEW THIS YEAR)
Classes will be taking field trips during the school year. Letters containing detailed information about the field trip and permission slips will be sent home to the parents. M. E. Norman Elementary field trip policy states:

  • Only chaperones who have completed the required training, passed a background check, and officially signed up for this specific field trip are eligible to chaperone.

  • There will be a limit of 2 chaperones per child. Chaperones must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Any kind of tobacco use is prohibited on the field trip including but not limited to smoking, vaping, etc.

  • Parent vehicles can only go to the field trip destination. Extra stops are not allowed. Please take care of all personal matters before or after the field trip.

  • Parents will check in in the front office approximately 30 minutes prior to departure the morning of the field trip to receive a chaperone name tag.

  • All students must return to school after the field trip. Parents are not to sign out their child prior to the field trip.

  • Students must ride the bus to and from the field trip.

  • Parents are responsible for their own transportation and are not allowed to ride the bus due to limited space.

  • Field trips are valuable educational experiences. To ensure student safety and supervision, chaperones must give their full attention to assigned students. As such, siblings are not permitted to attend.

  • Before signing up to chaperone, please ensure you can commit to the date and times of the field trip as chaperone payments will not be refunded for any reason.

  • Failing to abide by district and school field trip procedures may result in revoked privileges of attending future field trips.
